Monthly Faves | January 2017

Hello there 😇  With the holidays & some time off, I got to try a bunch of new beauty products. Today I’m sharing the products I have been adoring so far in 2017.

Let’s start with a 2-in-1. The Real Techniques Diamond Sponge was released last year & it normally retails for $20 & it occasionally goes on sale for $9.99 at Ulta. It’s on sale right now if you’ve been eyeing it up! Each part of the sponge is designed to be used on different areas of the face. The pointed end is for precisely blending out concealer under your eyes. A sponge like this has been long overdue. The second product is Lush’s Tea Tree Toner Water. I first used this as a facial toner but after a while, it wasn’t strong enough for my skin. It still an amazing product & I didn’t want to let it go to waste. I recently saw a “life hack” to use Tea Tree Water to wet beauty sponges & it is truthfully my least favorite part of my beauty routine. I love this method because it dampens my sponges the perfect amount & if it dries out, I can just respray. Tea Tree also reduces breakouts. 😊

I’ve always enjoyed branching out & trying new things. I’ve been feeling to need to branch out with my hair styling, however I need something quick & easy. My hair used to curl up after a shower, but since I cut my hair super short 2 years ago it hasn’t done it. With my Ulta giftcard, I picked up the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray. All I do is spray this on my hair at night, scrunch it a bit, & touch it up if needed in the morning & I’m good to go! Plus it smells like bananas. 🍌

Now it’s on to my favorite makeup products of the month. I’ve been wanting to try falsies but I seriously do not have the time to add something else to my beauty routine. Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands & I was really excited when they released their Maneater Voluptuous Mascara before the holidays. It is an Ulta exclusive & claims to give your lashes 23 times the volume after 2 coats. This makes my lashes look so stunning, long, & full! I have been reaching for this more than my diehard Urban Decay Perversion.

Liquid lipsticks are easily my favorite make up product & I get my hands on a new one every chance I can. I received the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in ‘Cool Girl’ for Christmas & I am absolutely in love. I’ve been wanting a brown liquid lip & haven’t come across the perfect shade. This is perfect for blonde haired & fair skinned ladies! It is an exact dupe for Jeffree Star’s Celebrity Skin & is a close dupe for Kat Von D’s Bow & Arrow. I have heard mixed reviews regarding different shades of the Melted Matte’s, but Cool Girl wears extremely well & goes on in one swipe.
